Choose where you are going to store your photos and how you are going to organize them. Quit waiting for "Later"!
1. I use portable external drive for all my photos and I use Heritage Makers service for back-up copies and all my printing. When you open your free account with me, you will be able to upload your digital photos to the maximum storage allowed for free. Should you require more storage, a small fee will apply. The are many advantages of storing your digital photos online at Heritage Makers. For me, it's peace of mind to know that my photos are safe somewhere other than my home, protected from natural disasters like fire, and floods. And what about computer crashes...been there!
2. Use the software that came with your camera or other software to organize your photos. I like to use Photoshop Elements.
3. Set a date and time, and stick to it. That's why I host monthly digi-scrap events. You need to plan some time for organization and designing albums on your calendar, it's just a couple of hours a month. This will guarantee to keep your digital chaos away.
4. Decide how you want to organize your digital photos. I like chronological organization, it's a good way to be able to find things later on. Some photos events are big enough or important enough to be broken out into their own folder. For example, my daughter Victoria's Europe Trip, she had over 800 photos.
5. Upload photos on Heritage Makers into the appropriate albums and folders. As you go, delete the bad shots that don't make the cut for publishing.
In just a few weeks or months, you'll have your photos organized. I like to display our great memories in our home with storybooks and canvases.
